BOBBI Brown is a name well-known by any beauty fanatic.
The American professional makeup artist and author is also the founder of both beauty brands Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Jones Road.
Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is a luxury beauty retailer and educator, whose websites says: “We teach beauty that’s smarter, not harder.
“Simple to learn and easy to do, it’s artistry for the everyday—with quick techniques to keep you glowing.”
Bobbi sold her self-titled brand to Estee Lauder in 1995 but stayed on as chief creative officer.
Four years ago, she launched Jones Road – a makeup range named after a street in the Hamptons.
The brand sells simple-to-use products which aim to achieve a ‘clean, no-makeup makeup look’.
Jones Road has been hugely popular and seen impressive growth since it’s launch – already on track to becoming her second $1 billion company.
Speaking to the Daily Mail from her New Jersey home, Bobbi shared the best way to achieve a perfect smokey eye look, using products from her Jones Road range.
Speaking about the look, Bobbi said: “The smokey eye is both soft and wearable.
“The diffused smokey eye looks great on anyone and on any skin tone.
“I really want women to not be afraid of a little sparkle and shimmer.
“People seem to think mature women shouldn’t add any and it’s wrong.”
To begin, you’ll need an eye pencil, Bobbi uses The Best Pencil in black, which costs £22.
You then gently smudge the pencil before adding eyeshadow on top for definition – Bobbi uses The Best Eyeshadow in Smokey Grey to achieve a dark and sultry look.
The matte eyeshadow costs £24.
You’ll need to apply Sparkle Wash in the shade Gilded on top for a shimmery finish, which is available to purchase for £24.
Finally, you can finish the look by adding a touch of The Mascara (costing £24) and defining your brows with The Brow Pencil, which costs £22.
Beauty guru Bobbi Brown explained that a black eye pencil is ‘a good switch for evening’ (stock image)[/caption]Picking up a black eye pencil can seem daunting if you don’t consider yourself a makeup pro, but Bobbi says: “‘Don’t be afraid of black eye pencil.
“It can be a little strong for daytime, but it’s a good switch for evening.”
The beauty guru is well-known for her incredibly speedy application, famously able to apply her own makeup in four minutes.
Bobbi said candidly: “I’m 67 years old. I need make-up but I’m also one of those people who is always dashing, always late, always doing a million things, so I require a quick routine.
“I use my fingers to apply most of it, you don’t need a big kit full of brushes.
“Women who fall in love with Jones Road say it’s the easiest thing they’ve ever used, because you never look like you have bad make-up on.”
