Ange Postecoglou has selected his Tottenham Hotspur side for this evening’s Carabao Cup tie against Man United. Let’s take a look at the starting XIs from both teams.
A place in the semi-final of the competition awaits the winner with North London rivals Arsenal along with Newcastle United and Liverpool already having secured their passage to the final four with victories on Wednesday evening.
Postecoglou is once again without a number of key players for the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to the ongoing injury issues within the Spurs first-team squad.
The Australian revealed at Wednesday’s press conference that Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will not be fit to play until the New Year, while Guglielmo Vicario and Wilson Odobert remain long-term absentees following their respective ankle and hamstring surgeries.
There was some positive news when it was revealed Mikey Moore has returned to training following his illness. Ben Davies is also expected to play again in 2024 and Richarlison could feature in the first week of 2025.
Yves Bissouma was once again available for selection having served a one-match ban against Southampton, however, Rodrigo Bentancur’s failed appeal over his seven-match suspension means he must sit out tonight’s match along with the visit of Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
There were also some concerns over the availability of Destiny Udogie after the left-back came off in the second half of Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Southampton with tightness in his quad muscle.
This is who takes to the field under the lights of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:
The Man United starting XI to face Tottenham is as follows:
Bayindir, Lindelof, Mazraoui, Martinez, Fernandes, Hojlund, Eriksen, Yoro, Dalot, Antony, Ugarte.
Tottenham vs Manchester United kicks off at 8 pm UK time, with the match being televised live on Sky Sports.
