He appeared on a video, donning a dark top and sitting in front of his sofa.
The Ant-Man star asked quizzers to name the top 10 Christmas Carols – as voted for by listeners of Classic FM.
The question came as part of the pub’s weekly quiz, which this week raised £2561.01 for homeless charity Shelter.
The top carol – which has played at number one on the list for the eighth year running – is O Holy Night.
It is closely followed by In The Bleak Mid-Winter at number two, and Carol of The Bells rounding off the top three.
Paul is one of a number of famous faces who have presented the quiz round – with former stars including Judi Dench and Strictly Come Dancing champ Chris McCausland.
Landlord Will Norris said: “We did this Top Ten Question every week and we decided it would be fun if we could get some celebrities to ask the questions.
“Judi Dench very kindly agreed to be our first ever Celebrity Reader, and once Judi says yes, most people will say yes.
“So it just really took off from there. Now we’re pretty much always booked out three weeks in advance.”
New Jersey-born Paul is no stranger to surprising pub customers in the UK and Ireland.
Earlier this month, he popped into a pub in Dublin, Ireland, for a drink and sing song.
He was spotted hanging out with popular limerick folk band, Hermitage Green, who headed into the pub for a quick drink before their big concert.
The star has also been spotted in Wrexham as he supports pal Ryan Reynolds, who owns Wrexham AFC.
