Prince William and Kate Middleton have released their annual Christmas card.
This year they have selected a photo with their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six – originally released when Kate announced she had ended cancer treatment in September
It comes hours after a royal source revealed they would spend today in Norfolk instead of joining the Royal Family’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.
A message in the card says: ‘Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.’
The family photograph had previously been released with a batch of other pictures and a video on September 9.
It was part of a message to well-wishers during Kate’s retreat from public sight while undergoing chemotherapy.
‘Life as you know it can change in an instant’, Kate said in the video of her walking through a forest.
‘And we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.
‘The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
‘With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.
‘This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted.
‘Of simply loving and being loved.’
