COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - From holiday light displays at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, to Ohio State's first College Football Playoff game in December at The Shoe, here are things to see and do this weekend in central Ohio.
Nationwide Arena, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.
- The Columbus Blue Jackets face the New Jersey Devils in a home matchup at Nationwide Arena.
Ohio Theatre, through Dec. 28
- Join Clara and her journey through the magical Land of Snow and the courts of the Sugar Plum Fairy at the Ohio Theatre. The BalletMet’s annual production has several shows through December. Tickets are on sale now.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, through Jan. 5 from 5 to 10 p.m.
- View millions of LED zoo lights, animated musical light shows, holiday activities and much more at the Columbus Zoo. The annual Wildlights is included in regular zoo admission.
Sharon Woods Metro Park, Dec. 21 starting at 9:15 a.m.
- Wrap up the year with a fun and unique holiday race. Wear the ugliest sweater, shirt or jacket that you can find and join in the fun of racing. Afterward, enjoy snacks and drink eggnog and hot chocolate. Races include a 6k, 12k, 18k and Kids Dash.
Bernards Tavern, Dec. 21 from 4 to 10 p.m.
- Rock your ugliest holiday sweater and crawl the best bars in Columbus. Check-ins start at Bernards Tavern from 4 to 6 p.m. Each bar will welcome you with unique drink specials to celebrate the season.
Ohio Stadium, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m.
- The No. 8 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes face the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers at Ohio Stadium in the first round of the College Football Playoff. This marks the first time the Buckeyes will be a December game at home.
COSI, through Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Enjoy a grand seasonal exhibit experience that will transform the museum into a winter wonderland while combining science, education and festive spirit of the season.
