HEWLETT, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man is wanted after he was seen dragging a 74-year-old pedestrian to the side of the road during a hit-and-run on Long Island on Wednesday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
It happened along Broadway in Hewlett around 10 p.m. A 74-year-old man was crossing the street when he was hit by a dark-colored SUV driving northbound on Broadway, police said.
Witnesses saw a man get out of the SUV and drag the victim off the roadway, according to authorities. The man then got back in his car and fled the scene, police said.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. An investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing, according to authorities.
