ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local restaurant employee received a special surprise during her shift on Wednesday.
A group of women went out to breakfast at The Bellevue Cafe in Rotterdam. They gave their waitress Stacy a card to thank her for her dedication. They also gave her a $1,500 tip.
Stacy lost two family members and a friend in the past year. And although the women don't know her personally, the group wanted to share their appreciation.
They've made similar gestures of generosity in the past where each person gives $100 to support someone who has had a tough year.
