Fiji … again?!
At the end of Wednesday’s Survivor 47 finale, host Jeff Probst gave viewers their first look at next year’s installment, which filmed in the summer immediately after Rachel LaMont was declared the winner. And yes, the location will once again be Mamanuca Islands, Fiji. Watch the Survivor 48 trailer above.
CBS’s long-running reality TV series globe-trotted and explored for its first 16 years on the air, before officially moving to this locale in the southern Pacific Ocean in Season 33 for Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X. “I hope we stay here forever,” Probst declared in 2017 while praising Fiji’s clear water, beautiful beaches, and friendly government. So far, he’s gotten his wish.

In the Survivor 48 video package, viewers meet a bunch of yet-to-be-named castaways who hope to win the $1 million prize, just like Rachel. There’s a tarot card reader with her own company, a self-described “weird” woman whose parents think she’ll be booted first, a fan who thought Probst was speaking to her through the television screen, a body builder who mostly drinks chocolate milk, a physicist on the autism spectrum, and more.
The 47th season ended on Dec. 18, 2024, with Rachel winning the $1 million prize over Sam Phalen and Sue Smey. Rachel talked up her “underdog” story to the jury, and explained how she was the only player that knew about all of the post-merge advantages. Teeny Chirichillo was eliminated earlier in the evening in fourth place after losing the fire-making challenge to Sam. Read our minute-by-minute finale recap to see how it all went down.
Season 48 of CBS’s Emmy-winning program will debut on Feb. 26, 2025. Until then, sound off with other Survivor fans in our forums, and let us know who really deserved to win Season 47 by voting in our poll below.
