Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) initiated the construction of six Next Generation Missile Vessels (NGMVs) for the Indian Navy. The steel cutting ceremony marked CSL's entry into building advanced weapon platforms. The NGMVs, costing approximately Rs 9,804 crore, will be equipped with advanced weaponry and sensors for offensive and defensive capabilities, with the first delivery expected by March 2027.
