COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- In just three days, Ohio State will take the field for a December home football game against Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Coach Ryan Day is addressing reporters in his final news conference before the game, which kicks off at 8 p.m. on Saturday. You can watch his comments when they happen in the player above.
Earlier in the week, Day revealed plans for the offensive line, which include rotating in freshman Luke Montgomery with other linemen against the Volunteers. Teammate Donovan Jackson expressed support for his increased role on the front line.
"I feel like Luke is versatile enough to plug and play anywhere we need him to be. He's had some great success at guard in the past couple of practices. He's shown a great ability to anchor," Jackson said. "And he's been playing stronger in my opinion so he's developing in the right direction."
The eighth-seeded Buckeyes look to end a decade-long drought against SEC schools. Saturday marks their first meeting with the Volunteers since 1996, when the two met in the Citrus Bowl, a 20-14 Tennessee win.
Ohio State is no stranger to the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes are making their sixth appearance since the era began in 2014, and they're the only team that have appeared in four of the last six playoff. They're 3-4 in playoff games.
