AMANDA Holden broke down in tears during her radio show today after emotional messages from listeners.
She and Heart Radio co-host Jason King couldn’t fight their emotions as they played out comments for nine-year-old Harry.
Amanda and JK told listeners about Harry during yesterday’s show, explaining how last year a tumour was found at the back of his brain.
Harry has been battling cancer for a year and having chemotherapy after it spread down his spinal chord.
And today Amanda and JK played messages of support from his friends and teachers.
He was described as an “absolute star” by one teacher, with a friend adding: “I was just shocked to hear the news, and just… why does it have to happen to him?
“Brain tumours don’t happen that often, but they have to happen to him. Harry, I can’t wait to play with you soon.”
Amanda, JK, Harry and his mum were left sobbing after hearing the nice words of support.
And Amanda said: “Oh wow, we are all crying here, every single person in the studio.
“What an incredible bunch of friends and teachers you have, what a lucky boy.”
JK added: “It is so nice to see your response to that when all your friends were saying ‘Hi’ and you smiled.
“And [I’m] also a bit emotional because you love them so much and they love you, they really do.”
Amanda and JK were no doubt reflecting on their own experiences with cancer, after her usual co-host Jamie Theakston was diagnosed with stage 1 throat cancer earlier this year.
JK is filling in for Jamie during his treatment, and he previously sent a defiant message to fans.
He said: “So – I have cancer – but cancer doesn’t have me. The prognosis is very positive.”
