STRICTLY champ Chris McCausland went missing from a radio appearance with a confused Jordan North revealing what happened.
Comedian Chris, 47, lifted the Glitterball trophy with Strictly pro partner Dianne Buswell last weekend.
And today he was due to appear on Capital alongside Lee Mack.
But due to getting caught up in traffic, Chris was unable to make the show.
After hosts Jordan, 34, and Sian Welby explained why Chris was absent, Lee, 56, made a joke about Chris’ Strictly win.
He said: “It is possible his Strictly win has gone to his head and he feels he can do what he likes.”
Lee also revealed Chris, who is blind, asked his advice before signing up for the show.
He added: “I was looking at the old texts this morning because he [Chris] was texting me at the time asking if he should do it.
“I’ve realised the preconceptions about his disability, especially him being blind, but the more time I have spent with him, there have genuinely been times where I have forgotten he is blind.”
The Sun recently revealed Chris is set to sign a huge deal with the BBC to boost their comedy shows.
A TV insider said: “What he did by keeping everyone in fits during the course of Strictly was show that he wasn’t just funny, but proved he had a traditional sense of humour that can connect with the ordinary viewers at home.
“That’s something which critics have said is lacking from many comedy series on the Beeb, and Chris could breathe new life into a genre which was once a mainstay for the corporation.”
The source added that Chris could also be used for general entertainment shows.
They said: “They are considering ways of him being reunited with pro partner Dianne as they had such a sensational chemistry together.”
