HOLLYOAKS actress Daisy Wood-Davis has revealed she’s given birth to her second baby.
The TV star’s gave birth to her son on December 8, and called his water birth arrival at their home “pure magic”.
Dad Majid with Daisy and Ari[/caption]Daisy and her Hollyoaks co-star Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy revealed their newborn’s name as Ari Jax.
However, the days that followed his birth were fraught with worry as Ari became ill and needed two operations.
Sharing her story on Instagram, Daisy, 33, wrote: “Now that we are home & our nightmare of the last week is behind us… we are so immensely proud to say that our second son, Ari Jax was born 08.12 at home, next to the Christmas tree.
“Daddy very cleverly lined up ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay to welcome him into the world.
“The birth was nothing short of pure magic, I haven’t been given much time to relive it but I know that I am super proud of myself and Ari for working so well together.
“Thank you to my incredible birth team @mama_sanctuary @preparingparents who made me feel safe and heard throughout, what incredible women you are.”
Ari was just four days old when he needed to undergo surgery and a second procedure soon followed.
Calling the experience a “living nightmare”, Daisy is now just thankful they’re out of hospital for Christmas.
She continued: “Ari (pronounced Ah-Ree) means ‘lion’ and ‘sun-like’ and he has truly lived up to his name and is the bravest, toughest little cub.
“We are so proud of him. Mummy, Daddy and your besotted big brother Asa, could not love you more (unbelievably, we will but it doesn’t seem possible!)
“Let’s re-start this post partum journey and celebrate our beautiful son properly, in the way he deserves.
“We love you with all our hearts, Ari Jax.”
Daisy, who played Kim Butterfield on Hollyoaks from 2014 to 2018, and Majid, 34, announced they were expecting again in the summer with a sweet reveal video.
They are also parents to a son called Asa, two.
Up until last year, half Iranian Majid went by the name Luke Jerdy, claiming he had been pressured to change it while at drama school.
The actor, who played Jesse Donovan in Hollyoaks, said: “During my time at drama school I was fortunate enough to receive the Laurence Olivier bursary.
“I was honoured to be invited to collect the award in London. There were several distinguished British actors there.
Little Ari needed two operations days after his birth[/caption]“I got chatting to one of the older actors, keen to soak up his wisdom.
“After a few minutes he leaned down close to my ear and said conspiratorially, ‘I’d think about changing my name if I were you.
“You’ll confuse casting directors.
“They will get you in expecting one thing and then you’ll turn up’.”
However, he told of his relief at finally reverting to his birth name.
He added: “I’ve decided to change my professional name back.
“I felt relieved. I felt like myself again.
“My name is Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy.
“I am half British and half Iranian. You can call me Maj.”
