Gayle King attended a screening of the upcoming film “The Six Triple Eight” held at the Crosby Hotel in New York yesterday.
Bringing her whimsical taste to the city streets, the television personality popped into a pair of sparkling blue metallic pumps. The footwear pick featured a pretty classic construction, including sharp pointed toes and short stiletto heels. The unique metallic blue leather uppers and high-shine finish set the shoe apart from its neutral black counterparts, imparting a futuristic vibe.
For those looking to channel King’s screening look, similar styles to her own can be shopped via top brands like Stuart Weitzman, Gianvito Rossi, Nine West, Kenneth Cole, The Attico and Amina Muaddi, among others. King’s shoe choice created a cohesive appearance, mirroring the blue hues found throughout her ensemble.
Gold, silver or bronze, metallic finishes are beloved by many, especially those in the business of creating footwear. Numerous brands have taken on the dazzling trend, creating silhouettes that bridge the gap between high-fashion and futurism.
The journalist layered up, combatting the cold in a lengthy green faux-fur coat layered over a blue item featuring faux-fur. A majority of her ensemble was hidden beneath her coat. As for accessories, King wore blue glasses and carried a striped clutch.
King’s shoe style is sharp and vibrant. The “CBS Mornings” co-host often wears pointed-toe pumps and heeled sandals in a range of colors, patterns and embellishments for formal occasions, hailing from brands including Paul Andrew, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. Off-duty, King can also be seen in equally colorful sneakers from Allbirds, Nike and Roger Vivier. She is also not afraid to get comfortable when necessary and recently wore flip-flops on a red carpet.
“The Six Triple Eight” is an upcoming film produced by Tyler Perry. The project follows the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, World War 2’s only Women’s Army Corps unit of color, as they address a backlog in mail while facing discrimination and a war-torn environment. It is set to be released in select theaters before hitting Netflix on Dec. 20.
