Apparently, being rich and famous does not preclude you from having a run-in with New York’s tenacious rat community. In an interview with Architectural Digest last week, Gigi Hadid admitted that she’s been dealing with a rat infestation in her recently renovated Noho townhouse. “My outdoor space in New York is getting a little update because we had a rat problem,” the 29-year-old said. “And some of the original designs of the space didn’t help that problem.”
Per “Page Six,” the model dropped a reported $3.97 million on a two-bedroom apartment in 2015 before scooping up another $5.8 million unit in the same building. She’s since said to have combined the two units and has been busy updating her downtown abode — including its 770-square-foot landscaped private terrace — ever since. It sounds like that terrace is the source of Hadid’s vermin problems, then. Too bad rats famously do not care how many millions a resident spent on their home.
Best of luck to Gigi on this one. If pest control is too busy cleaning up Eric Adams’s mess, she could always call up her bestie and self-proclaimed cat lady Taylor Swift to borrow a little predator for the day.
