AUSTIN (KXAN) — A woman died Sunday after being involved in a three-vehicle crash on Dec. 6 in northwest Austin, according to an update from the Austin Police Department.
Police identified that woman on Tuesday as Magda Anastacia Porras, 37.
The crash happened on Dec. 6 in the 13000 block of North U.S. Highway 183 northbound. Police said the driver of one of the vehicles, later identified as Porras, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
APD said Porras was later pronounced dead on Sunday, Dec. 15 — a little over a week after the crash initially took place.
Police said this crash is being investigated as Austin's 89th deadly crash this year, resulting in 95 deaths total. On the date of this crash in 2023, there were 82 fatal crashes, resulting in 85 deaths.
