Whether you like Prince Andrew or not – and most people don’t like him, it seems to me – I think it is morally wrong for him to be separated from his family at Christmas (Metro, Tue) for what is an incident with an alleged Chinese spy.
Are the powers that be going to insist Theresa May and David Cameron are subject to the same restrictions for their dealings with the same alleged Chinese spy? Carlos, Lancs
Prince Andrew is yet again embroiled in scandal, this time with a Chinese spy.
How can we be expected to believe that Andrew did not discuss sensitive issues with the spy.
He knew him since 2012 and we are all aware of Andrew’s previous friendship with a sex offender.
This hardly reassures us that the Prince has great perception when choosing friends.
Isn’t it time Charles slung him out of Royal Lodge and Andrew had a taste of making a living for himself like the rest of us? Molly Neville, Sheffield
So the government are sending £50million of humanitarian aid to Syria. At the same time British pensioners starve and freeze and we see not much in the way of humanitarian aid.
The government’s duty should be to look after its own people first, but we seem to come last with them. Alan, Sunderland
Given that our government is so keen on cuddling up with the newly woke militants in government in Syria, can we spare a thought for Shamima Begum? If actual jihadists are now flavour of the month in Westminster, can we bring back some kid who went astray? The hypocrisy is nauseating. Alex White, via email
A smoker was fined £800 for littering (Metro, Fri). Such fines should be extended to bus passengers who soil bus seats by resting their feet on seats with their dirty footwear despite clear notices to the contrary.
Drivers should be empowered to deal with such unsocial behaviour given the findings from ‘Mr Carpet Clean’ (Metro, Mon), highlighting how much filth passengers are picking up on public transport nowadays. Victor Vincent Mujakachi, Sheffield
Victoria Thomas Bowen hurled a drink at Nigel Farage in Essex, a serious assault and she could have blinded him. She was charged and taken to court and given a suspended sentence (Metro, Tue). What on earth is happening to justice in this country?
As we all know, a suspended sentence means you have virtually got away with the charge, and she will no doubt be out celebrating this ineffective decision.
The UK is the laughing stock of the world regarding such weak sentences for serious offences. Nick Smith, London
Alastair from Dunblane (MetroTalk, Mon), not sure your suggestion of GPs doing minor surgeries to alleviate NHS pressures will work – it’s impossible to do a surgery over the phone. Pedro, Hammersmith
I’m Aries and Monday’s metroscope was accurate with mention of ‘snafus’ (chaos, yes I did have to Google it!) plus made for a good crossword question. Sara, via email
Alan and Lorraine (MetroTalk, Fri) were surely a parody. Boohoo for the poor private schools who will now have to pay VAT, how on earth will those higher-rate earners cope? Heaven forbid they slum it in state school. Paul, Birmingham
If one in five homes and businesses in the UK are now liable to flooding (Metro, Tue) they must have all used the same plumber I did. Jon Lea, Wimbledon
