On Monday, Dec. 16, Simpson posted a snapshot of herself in a music studio. She gazed soulfully just beyond the camera lens as her long, sleek hair cascaded down her shoulders. She accessorized her look with a smoky eye, a nude lip, and sky-high platform boots. She captioned the image, “I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul ????.”
Fans responded to Simpson’s dramatic transformation — from her usual All-American look to a chic and edgy songstress. While one follower commented, “I don’t even recognize this person,” it’s the supportive messages from her true fans who understand that she’s going through a transition in her life. “she seems healthy, happy, and free so maybe yall should just applaud her for living authentically and keep it moving,” wrote one supporter. “DIVA WE ARE READY,” said another social media account.
Instead of comparing Simpson to a Kardashian or Ivanka Trump, fans might want to understand that the last year has reportedly been challenging for her and her husband, Eric Johnson. “Jessica’s needing advice and support, and Ashlee’s being there for her, picking up the phone when Jessica calls, taking Jessica shopping, and volunteering to look after the kids,” the insider divulged. “Ashlee has that street-smart edge, and she knows a few things. Ashlee is listening but she’s also reminding Jessica of Eric’s good qualities and giving Jessica a lot of food for thought.”
People confirmed in November that the duo has been living “separate lives” after 10 years of marriage, they have not thrown in the towel just yet. “She’s working on music and splits her time between Los Angeles and Nashville. Eric spends all of his time in L.A., where the kids go to school,” the insider noted. Their focus right now is on their children, Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.
Simpson is hinting that she’s going to tell her tale through her lyrics and that’s the story fans need to hear — the rest of the discourse is just noise.
