Threat of Rain and Thunderstorms lies on Day 5 of Gabba Test: Check Brisbane weather

Rain is expected on the final day of the third Test between India and Australia, India is going to have a good opportunity to finish the Gabba Test with a draw, all thanks to the undefeated last-wicket partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep on Day four.

The forecast is of 2 to 25 mm or rain, which is comparable to what was expected for the fourth day when 58 overs were possible between the breaks. A lot of disruptions seem inevitable for Wednesday in a match that has only seen 192 overs in the four days of the match.

“High chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm, possibly severe,” said Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology.

After grabbing the opportunity of surviving the follow-up by Bumrah and Akash Deep, Australia will need as many overs as possible to bring out a result on the final day, that has 98 overs scheduled.

Australia will need to take the last remaining wicket of India and then almost bat for around 20 over if they wish to secure the target of around 300 with almost 70 overs remaining. This all will be possible if only the whole day of game is not interrupted, which has only happened on the second day of the game so far.

There is going to be no cut-off time on the final day of the Gabba Test. However, apart from the rain, another big problem for the teams is going to be bad lighting as lighting starts fading around 5:30 PM local time on Brisbane.

With Jasprit Bumrah and Akash deep are still unbeaten, the second innings is still to start. It will be interesting to see how the Australians get this final wicket. They are most likely going to have a big lead as India is still training behind by a massive margin of 193 runs.
