COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A salad shop, Hibachi grill and barbeque spot are joining the food vendors at the East Market in Columbus' Trolley District.
Masa Salad and Fruit opened inside the market at 212 Kelton Ave. in November as a spinoff of Masa Mexican Grill, another East Market vendor that has been open since winter of 2023. The new Masa stall took over the space previously home to Butcher and Grocer and is serving build-your-own salads with house-made dressings.
Momocha Hibachi Japanese Grill joined the market earlier this month, marking the first solo venture for a Columbus couple that has worked at previous Hibachi-style eateries. The stall's menu includes protein options like chicken, shrimp and steak, alongside appetizers like crab Rangoon and egg rolls.
The third vendor, Fran's Meat and Three, is expected to open this month and will be serving a rotating menu of barbequed meats paired with the customer's choice of three sides, like mac and cheese.
The East Market opened in spring 2022 and has served as a launching point for several small businesses, like The Plant Gays who opened their stall shortly after the market opened and have since expanded with another location in German Village.
Saba Middle Eastern Grill, a fast-casual kosher restaurant, launched their East Market stall in spring of 2023, followed by Fork in Nigeria, a Reynoldsburg eatery that went "TikTok famous" for West African dishes.
The Trolley District food hall is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
