With the winter holidays on the horizon, government agencies and local businesses will see limited holiday hours or closures.
The Los Gatos Library will be closed for Christmas Dec. 23-25, and for New Year’s Dec. 30-Jan. 1. The library will reopen on Jan. 2 for its usual hours, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.
The post office in town, located at 101 S. Santa Cruz Ave., will remain open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Regular mail and priority mail express mail will be delivered on those days. The post office will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and only priority mail express mail will be delivered. The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department’s records department will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1, and regular business hours will resume on Jan. 2. Residents can contact 408-354-8600 to reach the department 24/7.
The Los Gatos Town Council will take a brief winter recess in December and January. After the meeting on Dec. 17, the council will not meet again until Jan. 21, canceling their Jan. 7 meeting.
The Los Gatos DMV, located at 600 N. Santa Cruz Ave., will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The DMV will maintain its usual hours during the days before and after the holiday – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday except Wednesday, when it opens at 9 a.m.
The town of Los Gatos’s administrative services will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 1.
The New Museum Los Gatos will be closed on Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The museum will otherwise operate during its regular hours: Thursdays-Sundays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Valley Transportation Authority will operate buses and light rail on its usual Sunday or holiday schedule on Jan. 1 and Dec. 25, and will offer additional light rail service on New Year’s Eve. Visit www.vta.org/go/routes for more information on specific routes and hours.
