Two managers linked with the vacant job at Bristol Rovers can ‘be ruled out’ for now, as the Gas hunt for a new boss.
Bristol Rovers sacked Matt Taylor as their manager earlier this week, with the boss departing with the club sitting just two points above the drop zone.
A run of three straight defeats in the league, which left relegation worries swirling, caused the Gas to act and to part ways with Taylor.
A host of managers have now been linked with the vacant job at the Memorial Stadium, including former Stoke City manager Steven Schumacher and ex-Preston North End boss Ryan Lowe.
However, according to Bristol Live, the pair can ‘be ruled out’ at the moment.
With a number of clubs making managerial decisions, the duo may be looking to see if they can land new positions in the Championship rather than dropping down to League One.
Millwall are one Championship side currently in search of a new manager.
Bristol Rovers are next due to play host to high-flying Wrexham at the Memorial Stadium, before they then face a trip to take on Exeter City.
