PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Later sunsets are working their way back into the Portland, Vancouver area Monday evening.
Portland area sunsets had been at their earliest time of 4:27 p.m. since December 3. It was Monday, December 16 when the sunset time changed to 4:28 p.m.
Sunset times will continue to happen later in the evening every day until June 20, 2025. That's when the sun will set around Portland at 9:03 p.m.
Despite the later sunsets settling back into the Pacific Northwest, the amount of light seen each day continues to shrink.
Daylight hours will start to increase after the winter solstice on December 21, 2024, which is also the official start to the winter season.
