Fifteen years ago, designer Rebecca Minkoff says she made a “huge mistake” that she is theorizing might be the reason she’s never been invited to the Met Gala.
The 44-year-old fashion designer and RHONY star – who has her own brand – recalled once stepping inside an elevator at the same time as Vogue‘s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

“That was the end of my relationship with Anna. You’re not allowed in the elevator with Anna,” Rebecca alleged on the “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast. While riding on the elevator, she recalled, “I was like hello, ‘How is everyone feeling today?’ She just looked down. It got silent, it was awkward. I was like, right, right I must’ve missed the memo somewhere.”
“I”m still overthinking it 15 years later. Maybe that’s why I’ve never been invited to the Met Gala,” Rebecca added.
