SELKIRK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The town of Bethlehem recently acquired a new 68-acre community forest in the hamlet of Selkirk. The town held a "vine cutting" on November 12 to celebrate the acquisition.
The forest's acquisition was supported through a $195,000 grant from the Department of Environmental Conservation's Community Forest Conservation Grant Program. This program, funded by the Environmental Protection Fund, helps the state meet conservation goals including the effort to conserve 30% of the state's land and water by 2030.
