Lily Phillips got candid about the motivation behind her controversial OnlyFans challenge[/caption]The OnlyFans model has amassed an audience of 36,000 paying subscribers on the platform.
Through her content creation and challenges, she has already made £2 million.
However, she recently revealed that money was never the motivation behind her career.
“I didn’t get into OnlyFans because I was desperate for money,” Lily told the Mail Online.
“My parents loved to spoil us, I had a very comfortable, happy life.
“It was the picture-perfect childhood and I had amazing parents.”
Lily admitted to feeling “embarrassed” by her notoriety while featuring in a recent documentary about her unique career.
She has since offered more context on her life before becoming an OnlyFans creator.
“I always thought that private school kids were a bit weird,” Lily explained.
“And I was not that smart and thought that I would be bottom of the class, so I told my parents that I didn’t want to go [to private school].”
While the model, who grew up in Denby, Derbyshire, turned her back on the privileged opportunity, her brother accepted their parents’ offer.
Despite her doubt over her academic abilities, Lily received five GCSEs and went on to university to study Nutrition.
However, she revealed that she started “sleeping around” once she left home.
In 2020, she decided to start her OnlyFans account, raking in £2,000 in the first month.
“I was sort of selling sex to guys on my nights out without making any money, so I thought I might as well charge for it,” Lily explained.
OnlyFans is a subscription content service based in London.
As of 2023, it is thought to have more than 220million registered users and over three million content creators.
Sex workers charge monthly fees for access to pictures, videos and more.
While popular for porn, the site isn’t exclusively designed with that in mind – anyone who wants to build up a fan base and charge them for it can set one up.
Celebs like Katie Price and Kerry Katona are popular personalities on the platform.
“Whether you’re uploading tutorials, tips, behind-the-scenes footage or just endless selfies, a lot of your followers would be willing to pay for them,” the company states.
For every subscription that’s sold to a viewer, performers get 80 per cent of the cash while OnlyFans gets the rest.
It isn’t limited to adult content, as it has become popular with physical fitness experts and musicians.
She revealed that the Covid Pandemic allowed her more time to invest in her OnlyFans exploits since she was no longer required to attend lectures in person.
Her online side hustle has since helped her invest in a high-end flat in west London.
And despite criticism and her own self-admitted “embarrassment,” Lily insists that she feels “empowered’ and “happy” in her work.
“Honestly, it’s changed my life. How I feel about myself, my confidence,” she explained.
“I am a 23-year-old woman who pays my own rent and earns good money.
“I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved – I’m a feminist, 100%.”
Lily has now set her sights on breaking the record for most sexual partners in 24 hours.
Her team is currently vetting 5,000 men who have applied for the chance to be one of the 1,000 chosen to sleep with the star in February.
