I’M a Believer!
When it comes to music, although classically-trained I’m essentially a deep house/electronic/dance music kind of guy.
Nicky Henderson has been feeling the pressure over Constitution Hill – but it looks like all is good ahead of the unbeaten superstar’s return at Kempton on Boxing Day[/caption]So I don’t listen to the The Monkees very often.
The only place to get Templegate’s tips first – and at the best prices – is by joining Sun Racing’s brilliant Members Enclosure.

Now don’t get me wrong here, like anyone with any modicum of music decency The Monkees have one or two hits that resonate with most.
The odd thing is right now I’ve got ‘I’m a Believer’ on repeat. I just wish Camelphat would re-mix it!
Why has this happened you might ask?
Because while it could shock you, I think the monster Constitution Hill will be at Kempton on Boxing Day. Yes, yes I know. You will be laughing at me.
What makes me believe is that Nicky Henderson has stopped the daily updates. That, incidentally, is a relief and a good plan.
Silence in this case I suspect is good news rather than bad news.
In most situations silence is bad news, like the girl you want to date who isn’t picking up the phone, or the person who has promised they have got something done but has gone AWOL!
Silence then is bad, people.
But with Constitution Hill I believe connections only now want to talk once he’s been declared.
And just imagine if Constitution Hill did turn up for the Christmas Hurdle on Boxing Day for a smash up with Lossiemouth.
It would take me back to the days when the likes of Dawn Run went head-to-head with Gaye Brief.
And if you have never heard of those two check out the race here.
Of course if Constitution Hill does turn up at Kempton then the big question is over whether he’s as good as he once was. I, like you, don’t have the answer to that.
But I’m a believer. In ‘Hendo’ we trust.
Meanwhile… if you want to back a jockey literally bursting for three winners before January 1 then look no further than Kieran Shoemark.
You might not think it after the nonsense this term with Inspiral and Emily Upjohn, but John & Thady Gosden’s main man is on the verge of hitting a maiden century in his career.
Shoemark, who goes to Wolverhampton tonight and Kempton Wednesday, Southwell Thursday and back to Wolverhampton Friday, sits on 97 at the moment, which is already 17 more than his previous best total.
Quite simply Shoemark has been outstanding on and off the track this term, and of course bagged a famous Group 1 on Friendly Soul in the Prix de l’Opera on Arc weekend.
I suspect that 2025 will be the year of Shoemark.
Laugh all you like. I’m a Believer!
