North to northeasterly winds are forecast to increase today as a ridge of high pressure develops and a cold front approaches from the west. This front looks set to bring a fresh to strong and gusty southerly change to southern and central waters on Tuesday, and then become more vigorous as it moves along the northern waters on Wednesday. Another ridge is then forecast to develop along the coast in the wake of this front.

Forecast for Monday until midnight

Winds: Northeasterly about 10 knots increasing to 15 to 20 knots in the middle of the day.
Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the afternoon.
Swell: Northeasterly below 1 metre.
Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of morning fog inshore with reduced visibility.
