While Jim Carrey has been on screen forever and day, he keeps his private life just that: very private, especially in recent years. However, he just gave super-rare details about his life as a grandpa of three; and it’s as funny as you think it is.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, he opened up about his bond with his 14-year-old grandson Jackson.
“He loves to beat me at video games. He’s cruel,” the Dumb and Dumber star joked. “When I lose, I threaten that I’m going to get really good someday and kick his butt.”
He added that his son is the King of sassy clapbacks, saying, “He tells me, ‘You know how you can win against me?’ I say ‘How?’ And he goes, ‘You can be born again in a different era.'”
Imagine talking smack to Jim Carrey like that! We love that he has such a sweet bond with his teenage grandson, and it just shows how close they are since they can have clapback battles and video game-filled days together.
For those who don’t know, Carrey has one daughter. Back in March 1987, he married former actress Melissa Womer, and on Sept 6, 1987, they welcomed their daughter, Jane Erin Carrey. Wormer and Carrey divorced in 1995, with Womer noting Carrey’s alleged “depressive episodes,” per DailyMail. However, they continued to co-parent.
Carrey’s daughter Jane has dabbled in acting, music, and even worked alongside her dad on numerous occasions. Along with that, she’s a proud mom of three.
Jane has since welcomed three children named Jackson Riley Santana, 14, Erin Ray Bordelon, 4, and Logan James Bordelon, 2.
