Prince William and Prince Harry have allegedly been at odds with each other for quite some time.
Even though they have been photographed together on multiple occasions, royal experts believe that they have not yet resolved their issues. Reports claimed that Prince William and Prince Harry’s falling out started shortly after the latter started dating Meghan Markle. And the brothers’ rift worsened after the Duke of Sussex announced his engagement.
Since then, Prince William and Prince Harry have shown little progress when it comes to repairing their relationship. The last time that they were photographed together was in July 2021 when they attended the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue.
However, it’s also possible that the brothers are talking to each other regularly in private. But during a recent interview, royal photographer Arthur Edwards claimed that the first move should come from Prince Harry for the sake of Queen Elizabeth.
"It must be upsetting to the Queen to see that in her family, that two boys that grew up together, they played soldiers together, they had their treehouse at Highgrove together and learned to fly together. They flew helicopters together and now they're not even talking to each other. I don't know what he's got to do to make it right. But it's got to come from him and it's got to come from him in a big way. And from Meghan. I think it's possible you can change any situation if you really both want to. While this feud is going on with his brother where they barely talk to each other, it's not nice," Edwards told Express.
Andrew Neil added that Prince William and Prince Harry’s ongoing rift could also sideline important events within the royal family. And it seems this already happened.
Last year, Prince Harry attended Prince Philip’s funeral service in the United Kingdom. But eagle-eyed royal fans were more focused on his interactions with the royal family, particularly Prince William and Prince Charles.
However, the brothers remained distant during this outing. And Prince Harry was photographed chatting with Kate Middleton instead.
Last year, royal expert Camilla Tominey also weighed in on Prince William and Prince Harry’s feud in the Channel 5 documentary, 2021: The Queen’s Terrible Year.
Tominey said that Prince William and Prince Harry’s ongoing feud must be impacting the queen negatively.
"I think we knew that Harry and William's relationship had changed over the years just because Harry himself admitted that they were on different paths. There were reports that there had been tensions, the Queen is a conflict avoider by nature. The idea of Harry and William not being close, I think would really trouble her," she said.
Royal expert Emily Nash also talked about Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship in the documentary.
"The Queen made it clear in her statement in response to the Oprah interview that Harry and Megan remained much-loved members of the family. And it's clear that you know, the falling out between the brothers, in particular, will be very hard for her to bear. Particularly given that she took a close interest in their upbringing following the loss of their mother. You know, these are two brothers who have been inseparable for many years. And it's incredibly sad to see things end the way they have," Nash said.

Prince William has not directly addressed his rift with Prince Harry. But the latter opened up about it in passing during his interview with Oprah Winfrey.
At the time, the Duke of Sussex said that he will always love Prince William because they are brothers.
"You know, as I’ve said before, I love William to bits. He’s my brother. We’ve been through hell together. I mean, we have a shared experience. But, you know, we’re on different paths. The relationship is space, at the moment. And, you know, time heals all things, hopefully," Prince Harry said.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dubbed renegade royals for quite some time. They were the first two royals of their generation to quit their royal duties amid all the negative statements that they were receiving. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently reside in the United States. But they continue to shock the world with their bold moves.
One bold move made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happened last year when they sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Their conversation with the famed talk show host was very personal because they detailed some of their harrowing experiences with the royal family.
In an article she penned for New Zealand Herald, royal expert Daniela Elser said that Prince Harry and Markle wouldn’t have been allowed to do a tell-all if this happened 10 years ago. After all, sitting down for interviews, especially when it’s about personal drama, is looked down upon by the royal family.
"There was a time when royal life was defined by what was on the verboten list: No selfies, no talking about one's feelings, no public displays of affection. They're obviously dominoes that have all fallen and even a decade ago, with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge newly on the books, the very notion that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall might appear on the cover of Vogue, Prince William would record a podcast, and talk about his love of AC/DC and that Prince Harry would pop on a US TV network to complain about his family would have been side-splittingly, laughably ridiculous. Now, the options open to an enterprising HRH intent on making it in the 21st century are pretty much legion," she said (via Express).
In her article, Elser also claimed that despite all the things that Prince Harry and Markle have done, there’s one thing that the Duke of Sussex can’t still do, and that is to move on.

There are ongoing reports that Prince Harry and Markle are planning a second tell-all with Winfrey, where they will talk about recent events, including the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Some royal experts are convinced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex felt that they were snubbed by the British clan, particularly Prince William and Kate Middleton. The couples crossed paths, but they did not even look each other in the eye. And the Cambridges also skipped Lilibet Diana’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage.
Reports claiming that Prince Harry and Markle felt snubbed by the royal family are not new. In fact, months after their tell-all, Prince Harry’s friend said that he felt erased from the royal family following the Christmas photo snub.
During her Christmas speech, eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that Her Majesty didn’t have a photo of the Sussexes on her display. And according to royal author Christopher Andersen, the monarch did this on purpose.
"I think this is a turning point. There are all sorts of subtle messages that are conveyed in this, kind of soap opera that goes on. In 2018, she sat there in front of a Christmas tree. She gave her Christmas address and there were the family photos including Archie and Megan and Harry, very prominently displayed," he told Us Weekly.
Andersen also said that this must have been hurtful for Prince Harry to see. After all, photos of Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Middleton, and their three children were all there.
"It seems very subtle, but when you think about it, when somebody cuts you out of the family album, so to speak, it’s a pretty strong message," he said.
As of writing, there’s still no confirmation as to whether Prince Harry and Markle will indeed appear in a second tell-all with Winfrey.
