When it works, these love stories can truly go the distance. For instance, Bill and Seaforth Hayes would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. The Days of Our Lives actor tragically passed away months before they hit the milestone moment.
However, when the couples split, the drama can resemble a real-life soap opera. There have been called off engagements, divorce and even a love triangle where both relationships ended in ruin.
