Mariah first topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990 with her singles “Vision of Love” and “Love Takes Time.” She reclaimed the top spot with at least one song every year between 1991 and 2000. Five years later, the singer did it again with “We Belong Together.”
Her hit “Don’t Forget About Us” topped the chart in 2005 and 2006, and “Touch My Body” went No. 1 in 2008.
“All I Want For Christmas is You” has gone to the pinnacle position every year since 2019.
According to reporting by Billboard, the closest competitors for her record are Paul McCartney, Beyonce, Michael Jackson and Madonna. Each of them topped the chart in 10 different years.
Paul also topped the chart in seven additional years as a member of The Beatles. As a member of Destiny’s Child, Beyonce went to the top in three additional years. Michael also claimed another year as a member of the Jackson 5.
For all three of them, those years were before they pursued solo careers.
