Sara Sharif’s evil stepmum has struck up a friendship behind bars with child killer Lucy Letby.
Beinash Batool, 30, became pals with Letby, 34, after she was placed on remand at the same secure wing where the serial baby murderer is being held.
A source revealed the pair ‘hang out on the landing together most days, playing cards and chatting’.
They said: ‘The child killers always stick together because they want to protect themselves.’
Speaking to the Mirror, the insider added: ‘It doesn’t surprise me in the least that they get on so well.’
Batool and her husband Urfan Sharif, 42, will be jailed for life when they are sentenced at the Old Bailey on Tuesday for Sara’s horrific murder.
Sara was beaten to death four years after taxi driver Sharif was awarded custody, despite accusations of abuse against him.
Prosecutor William Emlyn Jones KC said Sharif had gone on to create a ‘culture of violent discipline’, where assaults on Sara had ‘become completely routine, completely normalised’.
Sara had suffered more than 25 broken bones, from being hit repeatedly with a cricket bat, metal pole and mobile phone.
She had a broken hyoid bone in her neck from being throttled, iron burns on her buttocks, boiling water burns on her feet, and human bite marks on her arm and thigh.
There was also evidence she had been bound with packaging tape and hooded during the assaults, which would have left her in excruciating pain.
Last week, it emerged Letby had been interviewed over more suspicious deaths of babies.
The former neonatal nurse was questioned under caution over unexpected deaths and collapses of babies at her former place of work, the Countess of Chester Hospital and, for the first time, at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, where she trained as a student.
She is already serving a rare whole-life sentence for murdering seven babies and trying to kill seven others, while working as a neo-natal nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
