Radu Dragusin provides a confident response when asked about the challenges that Spurs will face over the coming weeks, given their injury crisis.
Tottenham are not only having to deal with a lot of injuries to key players, but unfortunately for the Lilywhites, many of those injuries have been concentrated in a few areas of the pitch, thus really complicating matters for Postecoglou.
Nowhere is the situation as bad as in central defence, with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies all on the treatment table.
Dragusin is the only fit centre-back in the squad at the moment and the Romanian will thus have an important role to play to help the side navigate through the next few weeks.
The Romanian is adamant that there is enough quality in the Spurs squad to come through this difficult spell. The 22-year-old insisted that several of his teammates can do a good job even outside their normal positions, given the quality that they have.
When asked about the injuries that Spurs are dealing with, especially at the back, Dragusin said (via Football.London): “Obviously, with the injuries, it’s always tough, you know, because you have to manage the players very well.
“Then when you go on the pitch, you have to give your best regardless of which position you’re used to playing. We are a group of players with quality that I trust a lot, and, regardless of any injury problems we will go out there and do our best and try to play our football.”
Given the unavailabilties in central defence, one can argue that Dragusin has now become the club’s most important player.
The Lilywhites can ill-afford to lose the former Genoa man right now, but he revealed that the coaching staff are not taking any additional precautions to keep him fit.
When asked if Spurs are being careful with him, given the injuries they have in central defence, the defender responded: “I don’t think so. We train the same way we’ve always trained since I came here. So that’s not an issue. I mean, it’s like, everyday stuff.”
