News and Notes for Saturday, December 14th, 2024.
Chris Antonetti spoke with MLB yesterday to provide insight into the decision behind the Cleveland Guardians trading 3x Gold Glove All-Star Andrés Giménez.
What it can boil down to is that they traded from their strength to boost their deficit. With the amount of major league ready middle infielders in the organization, the front office felt capable of trading Giménez for much needed starting pitching.
The team also announced yesterday some internal coaching promotions. Notably Brad Goldberg was promoted from bullpen coach to assistant pitching coach, a position he has earned after this past season’s bullpen performance.
