TILLIE Amartey has teased huge new Waterloo Road storylines for her character ahead of the new series.
The fan-favourite, 21, will return for the BBC school-based drama’s next series in the New Year.
Fans watched as Stacey Neville arrived just this year, immediately making her mark as one student with a very poor attendance.
Speaking about her future, Tillie told The Sun: “So there’s lots of good things coming for Stacey. I think they like me in the audience.
“I don’t think I’m getting killed off. So, you know, I think she’s still going to be a comfort blanket for the audience.”
Jason Manford recently departed the show after just one series, paving the way for EastEnders icon Lindsey Coulson to take over as head teacher.
While scripts are being closely guarded by Beeb bosses, Tillie did tease: “Everything we do, we try and keep it as authentic and real as possible so that the audience can really connect to it.
“So we’ve got a load of big storylines coming up. Obviously I can’t give you any spoilers. But Stacey Neville did just win the Biggest Breakthrough Award for I Talk Telly.”
Tillie was speaking on behalf of the Department of Education’s Skills for Life campaign, which aims to help young people, adults and businesses realise their full potential by engaging in a range of skills and technical education offers.
It supports the government in their attempts to grow the economy by ensuring people have the skills they need for the future.
Tillie said: “Arming yourself with knowledge, because knowledge is power, and the Skills for Life website is definitely full of knowledge.
“So even if you think, ‘oh I can only do this with the qualifications I’ve got’, as soon as you put your qualifications in on the Skills for Life website, you’ve got a numerous amount of jobs that you didn’t know you could do.”
Meanwhile, The Sun recently revealed how Loose Women star Denise Welch is reprising her role on Waterloo Road.
She played French teacher Steph Haydock for four years before leaving in 2010.
A BBC insider said: “Waterloo Road fans love a comeback, particularly when it is someone of Denise’s calibre.
“The character is certainly one which will live long in the memory of devotees, and it’s an absolute no brainer to have her return.”
