Trust us: Nothing good will come from skipping Netflix’s newest dark comedy series “No Good Deed.” Created by Liz Feldman of the Emmy-nominated “Dead to Me,” the eight-episode series shares connective tissue with the earlier comedy, as both are set in affluent areas of Los Angeles and revolve around characters who are being less than truthful with one another. Emmy winners Lisa Kudrow and Ray Romano anchor the series as Lydia and Paul, a grieving couple attempting to sell their longtime home in the desirable Los Feliz neighborhood in the wake of their son’s death. While multiple interested parties believe the gorgeous Spanish-style villa on a bright corner lot will fix all their problems, there is a darkness that lingers within its walls, and Lydia and Paul must hide the truth about what happened inside the house long enough to sell it. With a stellar ensemble that also includes Linda Cardellini, O-T Fagbenle, Abbi Jacobson, Denis Leary, Poppy Liu, Teyonah Parris, and Luke Wilson, “No Good Dead” is the awards contender to watch this weekend.

- “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was”: Given all that he’s achieved, it’s sometimes easy to forget Jamie Foxx’s career began in comedy. In this brand new special, which was filmed in Atlanta — the very city where he started performing stand-up in the early 1990s — the Oscar and Grammy winner reminds us of his comedic chops even as he gets deeply emotional, revealing the details of the April 2023 medical emergency that nearly took his life and kept him out of the limelight for months. The special, which was filmed not far from the hospital that performed his life-saving surgery, is now streaming on Netflix.
- “Dexter: Original Sin”: When viewers were first introduced to Michael C. Hall’s serial killer Dexter Morgan in 2006, who could have predicted that nearly 20 years later we would be awaiting the debut of a prequel? The second spin-off of the Emmy-winning Showtime series (which was based on a series of novels), the new drama follows Patrick Gibson’s Dexter during his time as a forensics intern with the Miami police. Multiple actors are stepping into the shoes of existing characters, including Christian Slater as Dexter’s father Harry and Molly Brown as his sister Debra (portrayed by Jennifer Carpenter in the original drama). Hall, who will reprise the role in a separate series next year, narrates the new show. The series premiere is now streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime. The episode will air Sunday at 10/9c on Showtime.
- “Queer Eye”: The ninth season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning reality series debuted this week, and it hasn’t lost a step. Jeremiah Brent, who has headlined multiple HGTV series with husband Nate Berkus, effortlessly slides into the feel-good series as the Fab Five’s expert on interior design and all things home after the departure of original star Bobby Berk. He joins returning cast members Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and Antoni Porowski as the group changes lives and melts hearts in Las Vegas. All 10 episodes are streaming now on Netflix.
