TWO cops caught romping in a police station lift have kept their jobs.
Det Con Jessica Martin was performing a sex act on PC Pierce Lynch after a boozy night out, a panel heard.
They were reported to a sergeant by shocked colleagues who saw them when the lift doors opened.
The tribunal heard the officers, both trainee detectives at the time of the 2022 incident, were off-duty and kissed at a pub before returning to Bethnal Green police station in East London to get their bags.
In statement PC Lynch said: “Jess undid my zip and I undid my top button.
“To the best of my recollection, Jess then performed oral sex for about five to ten seconds.”
Martin’s lawyer, Rina-Marie Hill, said the cop had become the subject of gossip, which “weighed heavily” on her.
Det Con Nobby Clark, defending PC Lynch, said: “He is sorry for the embarrassment he caused. This was a single and unplanned event.”
Lynch and Martin were found guilty of gross misconduct and got a final written warning, lasting three years.
Met Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Alexis Boon, the panel’s chairman, said: “Although unintentional, harm was caused.”
