Hayley Atwell is the latest star to join the cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
The 42-year-old actress will be reprising her role as Agent Peggy Carter, according to Deadline.
While it’s exciting to see Hayley back in the MCU, the report reveals there was another project potentially in the works for her!

Deadline reports there was a plan for Hayley to “return potentially for a standalone movie. A story for that film could not get nailed down but in recent months both sides saw the new Avengers film as the perfect opportunity to bring back both characters.”

Hayley first appeared as Peggy in the MCU in 2011′s Captain America: The First Avenger. She also made appearances in the 2013 short film Agent Carter, 2014′s Captain America: The Winter Solder, 2015′s Avengers: Age of Ultron, the 2015 ABC series Agent Carter, 2019′s Avengers: Endgame, and 2022′s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
