LBJ also needs to rest all 2nd half of back to back. Reaves can’t be our primary PG and really it would be best if he is not our 3rd best players but more like 4/5 best. First thing we need to think about the future. We can’t give up either first for a win now player that can’t also be part of our future when lbj leaves and AD is left
We continue to need a muscle big. I have been disappointed with the fo for years really. And again this summer they didn’t disappoint. Lbj says he is willing to give up money for certain players one being big Val. And the wizards grab him up. Seriously FU fo. Now make this was all part of a bigger plan. Maybe we trade for him in the next few months and give up two prospects. JHS and Lewis maybe and throw in a 2nd.. And then we were able to clear two spots and still get our guy. I doubt it. Surprise me Rob. This move alone, with a healthy Vando gives up a chance. The thing I see often is Laker fans not explaining why the other team does this oh the silly things I see on the trade machine from other fans. Lol. Washington has Sarr. They are rebuilding. They get three prospects for one win now guy at a position they already have their future guy at. See. That is how it is done. The other team needs a reason.
If I was to give up a first or both my first picks there is only one guy out there that I think the other team would want to give up. So no trey. Atlanta is doing well. They could make some playoff noise. Why would they get rid of him? No BI. He is not worth the money, bc it would take the picks plus DLO and Rui. Or DLO and Austin Gabe or Rui. Not worth it.
I want Jaden Ivy. Let me explain. Detroit is not winning now. They are going to build around Cade, as I would, and could use two future picks to build around Cade with Jaden plays the same position. So maybe they do it. They could take Dlo expiring and have room to spend in the off season. And have picks for those future. We get a guy that could, if developed right, be an all star. He has all the pieces and lbj could help him grow. He could be Kobe to AD Shaq.
We just heard Brooklyn is having a fire sale. I’d give them Dlo, and his expiring contract JHS plus a first for Cam and his 24 mil a year contract with two years left on it. He would be a good 3rd option for now and the future. We would still need a big move after lbj but this would help.
And that’s it. Everything else is seconds and players only.
Finney Smith, only for a second plus Gabe or a combo is JHS Lewis and maybe Reddish. This is the last year of his contract. He is only making 13 mil a year but could bolt after this season or ask for just to much. But he and Cam are upgrades 3and D guys.
Sexton for the end of the restrictions on the 27 plus a second plus Dlo. He makes 17 mil and has one more year left on his contract. He is good gets downhill. Makes plays for others. Needs work on his jumper. In this 3 point crazy league this hurts. Utah does not want to win this year and would like to maybe come up if in 2027 lbj leave and AD gets hurt? Or leaves? They could score big time
Cole Anthony. His guy is gathering dust at the end of Orlando bench. Would they take a second plus a guy with Miami finals experience for him? Why not? He would not start for us but he is good. Makes plays for others and can shoot. He is kinda short and really Sexton light. But could take some pressure off reaves and if we get one of the Brooklyn guys we in biz.
Bottom line here is we can’t afford a total rebuild. We need to build around AD for the future we need pieces that make him wanna stay. That’s what the picks need to be for. Keeping AD and building around him for the next run. Can we still make one more run with this group? Maybe,
