New Delhi: The difficulties for the Indian cricket team are not decreasing. Team India’s hopes of reaching the third consecutive WTC final may be dashed. If India has to enter the WTC final directly, then it will have to win the ongoing Test series against Australia by a margin of 4-1 or 3-1. But at the moment it does not seem so. Rain has been predicted on all five days in the third Test of the series between India and Australia. Both teams are to clash at the Gabba ground in Brisbane from Saturday (14 December). If this Test is washed out in rain, then the path to the WTC final will become more difficult for the Indian team. At present, both teams are tied after winning one match each in the series. India won the first Test played in Perth by 295 runs, while Australia retaliated and defeated India by 10 wickets in the day-night Test.
Apart from their playing eleven, the teams of India and Australia (IND vs AUS 3rd Test) are also keeping an eye on the weather for the third Test. They will select their final eleven according to the weather. Fast bowlers are expected to get extra bounce on overcast conditions and juicy wickets. Fast bowlers of both teams can create problems for the batsmen in these conditions. The sky is expected to remain cloudy and rain is predicted during the match. According to the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, rain is expected on all five days from December 14 to December 18.
50 per cent chance of rain on the first day of the India-Australia Brisbane Test:
According to the Australian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of 50 per cent rain in Brisbane on the first and last day of the match, while there is a 40 per cent chance of rain on the fifth and last day. Out of the five days of the match, rain is expected to disrupt the match on four days. Which is a matter of concern for India. During this time, the maximum temperature of the day is expected to be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 30 degrees Celsius. 40 per cent rain is predicted on the third day and 30 per cent on the fourth day.
It is important for India to win the Gabba Test at all costs:
It is important for India to win the Brisbane Test at all costs to remain in the race for the WTC final. The pitch is expected to help the fast bowlers more. India registered a historic win in the Gabba Test in 2020-21 on its last tour of Australia. At that time India played a Test match here in January while the summer season has not started in Australia yet. Then India played the Test here on a wear-and-tear wicket because Sheffield Shield matches were played on this wicket before India. According to the pitch curator, this pitch is fresh and the wicket is expected to give a good bounce.
