A BRITISH teen jailed over a holiday romance in Dubai has made a desperate plea to be allowed to return home.
Marcus Fakana, 18, was sentenced to 12 months and said he was struggling to cope as he waits on bail for an appeal.
He was arrested for sleeping with a 17-year-old British girl he met on holiday in Dubai — where sex with somebody aged under 18 is illegal.
Marcus, from Tottenham, North London, said: “I couldn’t wait to see her again. But police knocked on my hotel door.
“Every day here is difficult. My family and I are devastated and in shock.
“I never intended to break the law.
“It didn’t occur to me at the time and for that, I’m sorry.
“I am asking His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum to please forgive and pardon me.
“Please give me my life back. Let me go home.”
The teen, from Tottenham, North London has apologised to the ruler of the Gulf city.
