Failed Arizona candidate Kari Lake said she would promote President-elect Donald Trump's next administration as a "golden era" after he picked her as the next director of Voice of America, an international news broadcaster funded by the U.S. government.
"Can you imagine if what's about to happen, the incredible resurgence in this new golden era is covered in the same way with the fake news that we're seeing on a national scale over on Voice of America?" Lake told right-wing host Steve Bannon on Thursday. "What a shame that would be. And we're going to make sure that doesn't happen."
"And I'm looking forward to this opportunity to serve in this incredible administration," she continued. "And I'm looking forward to making sure that as this country moves forward and digs out of a deep hole that we're in, all of this advancement, all of these incredible, incredible days ahead are covered in a fair and accurate manner at Voice of America."
"And he's just incredibly, he's working so hard right now to put together a great team of patriots who love our country. And I'm happy to be signing up for service to this country in this administration."

Journalists at Voice of America have reportedly expressed concern about Lake leading the organization.
"We're hoping that the guardrails will hold," one employee told CNN.
