Tom Selleck is reacting to Blue Bloods‘ cancellation and the series finale episode, airing tomorrow night on CBS.
Blue Bloods is actually one of the most popular TV shows on the air, including one of CBS’ biggest performers.
The show’s star Tom Selleck talked about the cancellation and his future.

Back in 2010 when the pilot first aired, Tom recalled to Variety, “They did 10 pilots that year and it was the last one they picked up, but also the highest testing one they did.”
He then addressed how CBS gave them a tough timeslot: 10pm on Friday nights. “Imagine if you told CBS when we started in 2010, ‘Here’s a show you can program on your worst time slot. You don’t have to promote it, and it’ll win the night for 15 years.’ That’s pretty neat!” he added.
Tom shared, “I can’t figure out why they didn’t start streaming it, do 10 episodes a year. But I’m not the boss. Everybody wanted to come back. And I think with this cast, it would have been a gift for the audience. I don’t make those decisions. I’m prepared to celebrate and commemorate this show, but I’m still getting used to it.”
“I’m not retiring. I‘ve got a mortgage; I got a ranch that I love and I love the work. Look, I’m not exactly a spring chicken in the business…I’m still adjusting. I’d like to think that somebody will think of something different. A comedy would be nice,” he added.
