Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, who was a part of the ODI World Cup winning Indian squad, has shared his will to see Rohit Sharma make runs in the upcoming third Test match against Australia, set to begin December 14.
Rohit joined the Indian squad after missing the first Test in Perth, and got dismissed cheaply as he scored just nine runs in two innings during the pink-ball Test against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Harbhajan Singh believes that Rohit worries about his performance in the longest format of the game. The Indian captain is going through a low phase of his career in Test cricket format.
“As a captain, I would like Rohit Sharma to make runs. When he scores runs, he will think better and do better things. No matter how big a player is, he is always worried about his performance. There is no doubt that when a player scores runs, he makes a better decision. So, let’s hope that Rohit Sharma scores some runs so that his captaincy gets better,” said Harbhajan Singh.
Rohit Sharma has made 597 runs in 12 Tests and 23 innings, that have come in at an average of 27.13. He has scored two centuries and two half centuries with a best score of 131.
