OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Oklahoma County Detention Center says a 45-year-old inmate was found dead in his cell on Tuesday morning.
Steven Woods was reportedly found unresponsive in his cell by an OCDC officer serving breakfast at around 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday. Lifesaving measures were performed by medical staff at the jail, but were unsuccessful.
According to the OCDC, Woods was being held on a felony count trafficking illegal drugs with a $25,000 bond. He was booked into jail by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office on Sunday.
While the investigation is still in the early stages, the OCDC says Woods' death appears to be a suicide. He was last seen during a sight check at 3:43 a.m. on Tuesday.
