It’s the time of the year that the national touring series drop their schedules for the coming year. Also beginning today the regional series put out their schedules before the PRI show. Lucas, Hunt the Front, WoO and High Limit have been out, and the DIRTcar Summer Nationals posted today.
As many of you, our fans, competitors and sponsors have noticed, PIR did not get a national series date or a date on the Summer Nationals tour for 2025. We had many discussions with all of them, promoting our track and doing our best to secure dates. These series are a business, and have to make things work for their sponsors and competitors. Sponsor needs, travel, linking a Friday event with a Saturday event, and the drivers like or dislike of a particular track all come into play. Likewise, we have to consider when we schedule events that work best for our fans and employees.
For example, we learned late in our talks with WoO Sprint Cars that they wanted several safety upgrades before a return in 2025. While we committed to them that the upgrades would be made in time, they wanted to wait and verify everything was in order before committing to a date. DIRTcar wanted to have a Hell Tour event at PIR on July 4th. While that might work for a different track in a different location, trying to put on a race on July 4th would not be a good business decision for us.
PIR management is just as disappointed as you that some of these series won’t race with us next year. We do feel very excited about the schedule of events we have put together for you in 2025. There are just a few things to finalize and we expect to post the schedule in the next few days. We’re committed to making our 4th year at PIR the place to be for your racing entertainment.
