International media reports have revealed that approximately 40 schools in Delhi, India, received bomb threats over the past two days.
According to a Reuters report on Monday, December 9, sources have confirmed that two schools received threatening emails yesterday, while 38 others received similar emails today.
The threatener demanded a payment of $30,000 from the schools and warned that bombs would be detonated if the money was not provided. Indian police have initiated investigations and search operations in response to these threats.
Earlier this year, several schools, railway stations, and airports in India were similarly threatened with bombings, though many of these threats were later deemed to be hoaxes. According to statistics, Indian airlines and airports have received nearly 1,000 bomb threats this year alone.
In a related incident earlier this year, Indian airlines were also targeted with bomb threats, raising significant concerns about security.
Authorities acted swiftly, arresting the perpetrator responsible for the threats.
In light of the recent bomb threats to schools, security measures have been heightened across the country. Authorities are continuing to investigate and are working closely with school administrations, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies to ensure that such threats do not escalate further.
