One of Southampton’s stars is putting intense pressure on Saints to sell him to the club he wants to join when the January transfer window swings open for business.
Russell Martin is shaping up for what could be an absolutely crucial transfer window if Southampton are to manage to retain their Premier League status.
Saints are already eight points from safety, sitting rock bottom, and have only scored eleven goals in their 15 league outings so far.
Offloading players would likely give Martin extra firepower next month and Southampton have one easy route to money as Paul Onuachu wants to go back to Trabzonspor, where he was on loan last season.
He has remained in touch with Trabzonspor’s president and the Turkish side are prepared to pay €5m to sign him.
And, according to Turkish outlet Gunebakis, Onuachu is putting intense pressure on Southampton to do a deal with Trabzonspor.
The transfer window in Turkey will open on 11th January.
The Turkish side are hoping to put an agreement in place and act quickly.
They currently sit just 12th in the Turkish Super Lig and are struggling to score goals.
