BOSTON – Impressive indoor debuts were turned in by Paityn Noe and Tiana LoStracco as they started the indoor season Saturday at Boston University’s Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
Noe, a redshirt freshman this indoor season, placed seventh in the seeded 5,000m race with a time of 15:23.41 in her indoor debut in the event. The effort ranks her No. 2 on the UA all-time list behind the 15:13.09 school record set by Katie Izzo in 2019.
LoStracco’s debut at 3,000m produced a heat win in a time of 9:19.36 to defeat Lucinda Rourke of Louisville (9:19.79) and Grace Kuhn of Loyola, Ill. (9:20.91). Over the final 200m lap, LoStracco moved from fourth to first place with a split of 31.07, which was only bettered by four runners from the seeded heat.
Alabama’s Doris Lemngole won the 5,000m race in a collegiate record of 14:52.57 over a 14:52.84 by Florida’s Hilda Olemomoi while New Mexico’s Pamela Kosgei finished third in 15:00.36.
Noe moved ahead of some notable Razorbacks on the Arkansas all-time list in the 5,000m. Among the top five, Noe’s time ranks above Lauren Gregory (15:32.95), Sydney Thorvaldson (15:42.25), and Amy Yoder Begley (15:46.89).
